Nicu, this is a real eye opener. Didn’t realize that my post was just a piece of this article. It’s a whole different mindset to look at profit rather than market share, still working on it.

This doesn’t account for Google’s profits in mindshare / marketshare in their web ecosystem, and advertising. The phone manufacturers may not be making money off of it, but rest assured Google isn’t into Android for the charity.
Otherwise a very good read, Apple is definitely in the right place as far as hardware profits go.
