“Think about that for a second. In a world where a new, free Android flagship phone comes out every week or so and dying out a few months later, Apple is selling 2 million/quarter of a device that was introduced two and a half years ago. This is the phone the original Droid went up against — in fact.”
Must be 2M blind sheep per quarter, there is no other explanation.

Think it reveals just how cheap we all are at times. It’s the same reason Android sells so well. Combined with carrier marketing and sales reps encouraged to push higher profit models and you get the expected result. People really want the best but are willingly led to believe what they are told if it saves them a buck. Worst of all they then are ardent in having to believe they made the right choice.

I’ve wanted an off road vehicle for years. If I had been swayed by advertising, looks, price, and emotion, I’d be in a Jeep. Started researching and found that Jeeps are noisy unreliable nightmares. Amazingly owner satisfaction is high. An Android auto.
The article below led me to get the Nissan Xterra PRO4X. They’re not expensive but still shopped until the price was way down. I love the way it looks. On road it’s quiet, smooth, and powerful with sporty handling especially with the stick. Those monster balloon tires give it on road behavior. Off road it’s a blast. And as predicted no problems. An Apple auto.

A man of few words. I’m reading for the first time Pride And Prejudice as I work my way through all of the classics I missed which is most of them. The poetic use of language is stirring and sorely missed. Of all of the folks on this board I think JPW comes closest to constructing thoughts that actually flow.

Try reading JPW’s posts slowly and I think you will enjoy them as much as I do. If he ever writes a book I’ll buy it although I hope it’s a murder mystery in the style of Doyle.

Ha! You made me blush!
Thanks for the compliment. I’ll try to accept it without embarrassment. But as a former Minnisnowtan (and therefore, essentially an honorary Canadian) it’s very difficult for me to take a compliment.

I’m not sure how many of our group would agree with you. Perhaps it’s just that you happen to agree with some of my recent posts!

When I was a kid, my Grandfather worked as a machinist at International Harvester and he often referred to the “smart young fellas down at the shop.” When I was about 8 or 9 years old I had heard this phrase a few times. So I asked him, “Who are these smart young fellas down at the shop?” He answered with a chuckle, “They’re the guys about my age who agree with me.”

You betcha! There’s only one thing more difficult for our stoic breed to do than accept a complement and that’s to give one.
